Art 2 Final Blog
Question #1:
I feel I was most successful in the Pen and Ink project. I think this because I honestly really like the way the piece came out. The theme of the pen and ink project was perspective. The process that I went through to create this piece of art was drawing it out in pencil first. After sketching it all out I went through and practiced the shading of the pool balls in my sketchbook. Once I felt confident enough I drew them. Then I did the lamp, following the lamp was the table. In this project I dominantly used stippling because I really likes the way all the dots looked while shading. The paper we used was smooth which helped the ink from the pen look very nice and well crafted. The techniques I used was hatching along the rim of the table to represent the wood edge, and everything else within the picture was done by stippling.

Question #2:
Looking throughout the whole semester of art work I think the 2 pieces of art that I grew a lot with was the prisma colored pencil and the still life. First I want to talk about the prisma project. I grew throughout this project by learning how colors compliment each other. Another thing that helped me grow as an artist during this project was learning more about layering and how things work together. IN this project I used a smaller sized brown piece of paper and used various colors of prisma. The techniques I used was definitely layering. The still life project helped me grow as an artist by helping me understand shading a lot more. During the still life i learned how shadows and lighting works, which is good because it was the first project we did and it helped me throughout the whole semester. In this project we used a picture of bottles that was on a table within the middle of the classroom and we were given a relatively large piece of paper. We also had a selection of different hardness of pencils to create the values we needed.

Question #3:
Between all the mini lessons throughout the semester I think the most beneficial ones was definitely the pen and ink sphere. Along with the replica of a section of a painting. The sphere helped me a lot by understanding how stippling worked and how the ink of the pens will look. The instruction I got while creating shapes helped me a lot I felt very prepared going into the pen and ink final. The painting I felt I could've gotten more instruction, but since Mrs.Rossi wasn't here I had to push myself to learn about what I was trying to accomplish. The way I felt this was beneficial was because I learned more about how acrylic paint works and how everything blends together. But both of these mini lessons helped me get basics of shading and color mixing which will help me grow as an artist. Im very thankful of everything I learned this semester and I can't wait to use all the new techniques and abilities in future pieces of art I will create.
